NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: 2017 RECAP

New York Fashion Week is one of my favorite times of year. You know I love fashion so it’s probably not a huge surprise that NYFW feels like a holiday to me! While I wasn’t able to stay for the entire week fashion week definitely didn’t disappoint!
I was able to attend two incredible shows that I’m still feeling inspired by. I kicked off my fashion week festivities attending the Hakan Akkaya show. This collection had my name written all over it with a black and white color palette throughout the collection – you know how much I love black and white’s chic look. After Hakan Akkaya I made my way over to Michal Hidas’ Fashion Week debut. Both collections were incredibly stunning and left me dreaming of the designs.
As if taking in these fresh designers’ shows wasn’t enough I did so wearing the iconic Israeli designer Barak Lahav, my favorite Chicago designer The Order, and my favorite Chicago store Felt. I love the opportunity to wear and support designs from Israeli and Chicago designers, they’re two places that are near to my heart and filled with talented designers. Of course, I couldn’t make a NYFW appearance without bringing my new favorite handbag from Collecte!

The shows and the clothes were a dream! Another dream was to spend some time with few fellow fashionistas I adore. Even in my brief time in NYC I was able to spend some time with Elan Devouture (@devouture) , meet the wonderful @irina_dorn, and I ran into the wonderful Youn Hee Park of Greedilous who gifted me one of her hand printed clutches that I was able to wear to the Michal Hidas show. It was great to spend some time with these lovely fashionistas!
Fashion week is, naturally, filled with a lot of fashion. Between wearing some of my favorite designers and attending incredible shows I was also super excited to have the chance to stay at an amazing hotel. I decided to change things up a bit from my usual NYC hotels and opted to stay at HGU New York and I was not disappointed. I think I officially found my new home away from home in New York City at HGU!
Of course, I couldn’t miss the chance to shoot with the talented Mariya Nicole MVP. It was definitely a fashion filled day in NYC and I’m so glad I was able to experience this journey and share it with you along the way.
