SPRING TRENDS WITH NEIMAN MARCUS
Hello, March! It’s still freezing in Chicago and I’m feeling a little impatient for Spring, so I partnered with NM Michigan Ave to feature my favorite trends for the season. Not only did I pull together some looks I love, but the store also has some stunning art that made the perfect backdrop for capturing them. Ok, grab a coffee and let’s talk trends!
This is one style update you’re not going to want to miss. Ruching adds the prettiest finish and it’s figure-flattering. I just love how it gives this floral DVF dress an extra dose of feminine flair. To make it a little more edgy, I paired it with a Fiorucci denim jacket and some killer studded Louboutins. This calls for a date night!
Keep an eye out for artful patterns and printed pieces this spring. This pleated Tibi top has me dreaming of patio weather with a glass of rosé in hand. I kept the color palette simple to really let all the special details shine—zoom in to get a look at the contrast stitching on the Veronica Beard pants and the pearl-studded Eugenia Kim boater hat.
Remember how boxy and overwhelming women’s suits used to be? For me, the pastel suit isn’t just a fun trend, it’s a sign that women are able to come into the workplace and be powerful without sacrificing their femininity, and I think that’s incredible. That being said, the suit isn’t just for work; I styled this one by Derek Lam to play! It’s such a fun twist on a pinstripe suit, so I decided to turn it all the way up with colorful accessories.
Top it Off
It’s not even a question that you need a statement coat this spring. Especially in Chicago, when warm weather can take its sweet time showing up. It was love at first sight with this oversized blue coat by Etoile Izabel Marant. It paired perfectly with my suit, but I would also wear this with jeans and a simple blouse. Throw it over your shoulders to instantly take your style the next level.
One of my favorite style tips is to help my clients incorporate more color into their wardrobes. It just makes your look pop, plus it’s such a mood booster! And this spring, designers have dreamed up lots of technicolored treats for us. It’s so easy to wear this trend with shoes, like these Louboutin heels.
Form Follows Function
There’s nothing better than an essential piece that is both practical and polished, and utilitarian pieces are definitely worth investing in this season. The stripe accent and cropped shape give this trench coat from Veronica Beard a fresh update. This and an oversized Givenchy tote will keep me feeling pulled together on even the busiest days. And how perfect those Mignonne Gavin earrings?! Of course I had to snap this look in front of the black and white work of art! How perfect is that?
Get to Work
Proof that sometimes one piece makes all the difference: I swapped out the trench for a white moot-inspired Veronica Beard jacket, and the whole vibe just changed. This is such a boss babe look—I’m definitely saving this for my next power meeting.
