5 ESSENTIALS PIECES FOR YOUR VALENTINE’S DAY [to NIGHT] OUTFIT
Valentine’s Day is that special mid-winter day we get to use as an excuse to buy chocolates, give (and receive!) gifts, dress up, go out, and bring a bit more romance into our lives.
No matter what day of the week Valentine’s Day is, it’s a great opportunity to spread love and get spoiled, even if just for one day.
If you’re a busy woman or mom like me, who’s running from thing to thing, trying to squeeze in just a bit of romance for a day, you might be wondering what to wear on this festive day.
Especially when Valentine’s Day is on a weekday, like this year, you need an outfit that will take you from day to night. Something easy but chic so you can focus on the love and not on getting ready!
What if I told you all you need is just 5 awesome pieces to put together a sexy yet versatile look that you can wear all day long on Valentine’s? In this post, I’m going to share with you those 5 essential pieces you can use to look fabulous and be ready in a jiffy!
Valentine’s Day Style in Under 30 Minutes? No Problem!
One of the best skills I learned in the military is how to get ready…FAST!
Can you believe that in under 30 minutes I put this look together, did my makeup and even got to eat lunch? It’s crazy, but I did!
If you’re reading this, you probabaly understand!
The thing is that we mamas love our sweatpants…I mean, if we could live in them we would!
Well let me tell you that you can…and all it takes is just a few additional staple pieces in your wardrobe to make comfy look fab.
1. n:Philanthropy Sweatpants in black: Taking Comfy to The Next Level
This brand n:Philanthropy is really upping the anti when it comes to casualwear with their “not so basic basics”!
The ripped cutout details make these sweatpants stylish and chic.
2. Black Leather Heels: Your go-to shoe
Slip on a pair of black leather heels that are both sexy and cool. I love these pointy pumps because they’re classic and make any outfit sexy. How hot are these?
Sometimes all a girl needs is a pair of classic black pumps or stilletos to seal the deal.
3. Blush (Faux) Fur Jacket: glam essential
This jacket from Sanem Boutique is so on trend right now, especially in this soft color! The blush contrasts so nicely with the black sweatpants and shoes, and the texture of the plush fur with the textured ripped pants such a stylish combo.
4. Cut-out sweater: Stay warm + look good
I love this Alice & Olivia black cut-out sweater because it’s nice a warm and isn’t an oversized sweater! Sweaters can still be sexy, and I think it’s time we brought the sexy back!
The subtle cut-out details in the sleeves peak through under the fur jacket adding detail and balance to the look.
5. Fresh flowers: A girl’s Other best Friend
I know they say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend…but flowers are just as special!
Fresh flowers bring nature and beauty into any setting, and especially on Valentine’s, everyone should have a bouquet of some! Even if just from the grocery store!
Even if my hubby surprised me with a bouquet, I still pick up some for myself (like these beautiful pink roses!).
Style-ready for Valentine’s!
I don’t know about you but I am ready for Valentine’s Day! 🙂
I’ll wear this outfit all day long – in the morning with white sneakers and in the evening with a pair of pumps.
Most of the pieces I’m wearing here are under $150, and I got them from the Sanem Boutique (mentioned above) in Oak Park.
The boutique shares the owner’s name, and she is absolutely lovely! She’s an amazing stylist, hard working mama like me, so I love to support that.
Looking for Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas?
An initial ring like the one I’m wearing above is just the right amount of sentimental and luxury without being too basic or tacky.
I also think that any woman is always better off with a faux fur (like the one mentioned above).
