Last week I was really looking at what content you guys love to see, and that quarantine tummy post crushed my blog!!! Did you guys read it and try the tips yet? It was so popular I figured it would be a great idea to add to it 🙂 This week, I am back with more styling tips and essentials to make you look slimmer and feel amazing!! Plus I will be spilling all the details of the detox program that I started a week ago and has been making a big difference… I know you are excited to know the secrets, so let’s dive in!
1. POINTED TOE HEEL
I believe in the magic of a great shoe and especially pointed toe heels. They are SO chic, but they also make your ankles and legs look super slender. Especially with skirts, dresses, shorts, and cropped pants! Heels are always essentials anyway, as they give you height, posture, and help your clothes fall better. This pink pair was a hit on my Instagram last week, so cute!!! A classic white pair is always perfect, keep the toe low–the more ankle shown, the better! I have this pair from Michael Kors that has lasted me a couple years.
2. HIGH WAISTED ANYTHING
I swear by high waisted items! They keep everything in and hit at the most flattering part of your waist. It can make your legs and torso look longer and slimmer! Go for a tapered pair with some stretch for comfort. I just featured all my favorite high waisted denim here! Also these Coach pockets shorts have been on my weekly rotation and were super popular on the blog.
3. MAXI DRESS (FOR PETITE GIRLS, TOO!)
Have you heard that curvy or petite women can’t pull off maxi dresses? That is a MYTH! The right maxi dress, something simple classic and not too busy, can actually make you look taller and slimmer. Focus on a flattering top, v-neck or halter that draw attention up and down. Try a wrap dress or belted dress so it flatters your waistline, and wear comfy heels underneath so you don’t trip over the hem! My personal favorite designers for maxi dresses include DVF, Kobi Halperin, and the Kooples!
4. BELT IT
Belts are a go-to trick to look slimmer. They’re easy to wrap around the smallest point of your waist and bring everything in. Plus it breaks up the middle area so the attention is not on our quarantine tummies! Go for a thinner waist belt and since it is an accessory, have fun with a print or color 🙂
5. VERTICAL STRIPES
This is the textbook tip. Vertical stripes create long lines and make us look taller and slimmer! Try something like pinstripe suit or dress for a flattering look, plus they are classic summery patterns!
6. WEAR ALL BLACK
I’m always a huge fan of monochrome, because it creates one long, lean line in one color. Black is also famous for being a slimming color, not to mention it is always so chic!
7. GET A TAN
A spray tan has the most magic effect! It’s definitely one of my beauty essentials. A nice bronze can highlight your legs, arms, neck, shoulders and make you feel amazing.And some bronzer highlighting your gorgeous face 🙂 I’ve been obsessed with Isle of Paradise tanning drops this summer!
8. INVEST IN A NEW BRA
80% of women wear bras that are the wrong size! But it makes the biggest difference when you have a bra that fits. With the right support, you proportions will be balanced and you’ll appear leaner! You can learn how to measure your correct bra size at home 🙂 Spanx always has epic shape and comfort. I love Simone Perele lace bras, especially strapless! It’s hard to get good support on a strapless bra, but Simone nails it every time. A fun experiment is trying a bralette with bold colors!
If you haven’t yet invested in shape wear, it will change your life! Shapewear like Spanx really works to smooth and hold in everything. It’s a great foundation to slimming pieces like flattering dresses, slim pants, and skirts. Focus on great shorts, briefs, camis, or full-body pieces that will slim your stomach, legs, define your waist, and highlight all your best features.
10. SMILE! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY YOU ARE
While implementing these 10 dressing strategies, I was ready for more so I started a detox program with Dr. Sonia Kwapisinski! It’s been one week and I already feel amazing. I also did this program 2 years ago and loved how I felt and results! I usually don’t diet, because I believe in living a balanced lifestyle. But once a year I do a detox because I love challenging myself, and my goal is always to be the best version of myself!
