HOW TO BECOME A SMARTER SHOPPER

Shopping is so fun, but it is easy to be impulsive! Has it ever happened that you come home with bags and bags of clothes, and find yourself never wearing them? I get asked by clients all the time how to become a smarter shopper. Luckily I have years of experience, so of course, I have learned a few tricks along the way!

First, every season you need to clean your closet and come up with a list of things that you really NEED. Start putting outfits together with what you already own, then you might realize “I could really use a pair of black booties, and a denim jacket!” If you walk into stores with a clear list (and a budget!), you can avoid impulse shopping.

I am a strong believer in “one in, one out”. Every time I come home with a new piece, I donate or sell a similar, older version. If I invest in a new winter coat, I say goodbye to the one from three winters ago. It keeps my closet constantly evolving and feeling fresh. I recently cleaned my own closet because I am prepping for my huge CLOSET REVEAL that is coming soon! This is why I just did a huge closet sale!

As a stylist, I clean closets often and every season certain pieces will always be on the list. Guess what? Your personal stylist, Tali, just made your Spring shopping list and found some options for you that are also on sale!

NEW DRESSES

My spring and summer uniform is usually dresses with sneakers or booties.  It is the perfect mix of feminine and sporty. I just picked up this striped Alexis dress on sale right now at Bloomingdales! I also found you guys some other great and affordable spring dresses.

Another way I love to wear dresses is with fun pattern tights and booties. I just purchased these Gucci logo pattern tights to wear with this Marc Jacobs floral mini dress that screams spring! I got it on super sale, but there is only one size left. Don’t worry, I found some very similar and affordable options of the dress and tights…

INTERESTING WHITE BUTTON DOWN

Totally a staple every season. Shopping for basics like this but looking for an interesting detail is key! Zara, the Kooples, and Revolve always have trendy options.

DENIM REFRESH

This is another thing you should buy every season. Trendy jeans can dress up a plain tee shirt and sneakers outfit. Look out for vintage denim on trend this season, like flare/bootcut, distressed denim, and high waisted. I’m recently loving Levi’s, Citizens, Moussy, J Brand, and Mother jeans.

LEATHER JACKET

If you don’t own one already, there is an entire blog post on why you need a leather jacket! Now is the time to invest because there are lots of great sales, like this Kobi Halperin embellished leather jacket that is over 30% off.

NEW WORKOUT SETS

It is a fact that cute workout sets really motivate you to get to the gym! If you work out often like me, you should treat yourself to a refresh every season. I also love wearing athleisure all day to be comfortable and because it is so practical as a mom. I just ordered this rose gold sports bra and leggings set from Revolve.

I just discovered No Ka Oi, a Japanese designer, and I am in love. This sequins jacket was way too perfect for me, not to mention at an amazing price!

UPDATED SNEAKERS

I live in athleisure wear every day, so I am always buying new chic workout shoes. I bought the Nike Air Max 720 that I am obsessed with! These are available in a variety of trendy colors, but this electric blue pair is selling out really quickly.

It is also smart to get a fresh pair of white sneakers every year. They are a staple to wear with any outfit!
